Five Oaks Academy, Inc. is a privately owned
and operated Primary, Elementary, and Middle
Montessori School in Simpsonville, South Carolina.
We provide a high-quality educational experience for
children between the ages of three and twelve (PreK-8th
grade). Through our investment in the site, facility,
and faculty, we’ve created an environment that allows us
to individually nurture each child. We do this by achieving
a balance between providing structure while encouraging
children to grow in their own way.

The Montessori method is a simple and logical approach
to teaching children. The approach is based more on the
reality of how children develop rather than imposing a
prescribed format. This allows a child's education to be
driven by their own curiosity and brings out the best in
children – their skills and their true personalities. Even more
important, this makes learning fun. If we help our children
believe that learning is fun, then they are more likely to learn! 

Our curriculum meets and exceeds all state guidelines to
provide a core course of study allowing children to move
seamlessly between Five Oaks Academy, Inc. and public
schools (or other private schools). Classes are designed
for a multi-age classroom mix promoting both individual
and social development. At the core of our philosophy is
a hands-on curriculum and individualized lessons that
cover all of the expected subjects – reading, writing,
math, science, social studies, geography, and history.
However, our curriculum extends far beyond what is required.

In addition to the basics, each week we offer many courses including an extensive art history program, advanced Spanish, yoga, music appreciation, grace and courtesy, cultural celebrations, nature and gardening, health, and more. We begin with respect for the child as an individual. We work from a deep concern for his/her social and emotional development, because there is far more to an education than mastering facts.

Five Oaks Academy, Inc. values diversity and we welcome all children. As with any private school, there is an interview and data gathering process.

Our students learn to collaborate and work together in
learning and on major projects. They strive for their
personal best, rather than compete against one another
for the highest grade in their class.
