Emily joined Five Oaks Academy in 2008 and began teaching in 1999. She serves as the Lead Middle School Program Directress. She attended Converse College and received a Master of Arts in Teaching Students with Mental and Emotional Disabilities. Emily also attended Furman University and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, and the Education of Individuals with Learning Disabilities, and has also completed 30+ hours in addition to her Masters Degree. Emily is South Carolina State certified in Early Childhood, Elementary, and Special Education. She is affiliated with the South Carolina Montessori Alliance (SCMA), National Middle School Association, and the National Council for Teachers of Mathematics. Emily previously taught at Mauldin High School, and D.R. Hill/Florence Chapel Middle School and is a member of the curriculum council.
