{"id":7108,"date":"2015-11-04T08:54:31","date_gmt":"2015-11-04T13:54:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/foastatic.local\/?p=7108"},"modified":"2015-11-04T12:56:59","modified_gmt":"2015-11-04T17:56:59","slug":"foa-teachers-and-administrators-continue-the-journey-of-being-life-long-learners","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/foastatic.local\/news\/foa-teachers-and-administrators-continue-the-journey-of-being-life-long-learners","title":{"rendered":"FOA Teachers and Administrators Continue the Journey of Being Life-Long Learners"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-7109 \" src=\"http:\/\/foastatic.local\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_5710-e1446565040898-270x219.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_5710\" width=\"290\" height=\"235\" \/>Many of our Five Oaks Academy teachers and Administrators headed to Swansea, SC for the 15th Annual\u00a0South Carolina Montessori Alliance (SCMA) Conference on October 23 and 24. \u00a0SCMA is a non-profit leadership organization of individuals representing public and private schools uniting together to enhance the growth of Montessori education in South Carolina.\u00a0This year&#8217;s conference offered dynamic Montessori speakers, interactive workshops and opportunities to share ideas among colleagues.\u00a0The primary focus of the conference was how to implement and grow STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) programs in our schools for all students, primary through adolescence.\u00a0The teachers who attended the conference were inspired with many great ideas to share and implement in their classrooms. She will present on &#8220;Why Happiness Matters&#8221;. It is so impressive that her class is at full capacity and registration has been closed. \u00a0Conferences are such an important way to grow and expand on best practice in Montessori as well as a way that FOA leaders\u00a0show their commitment to being life-long learners.
