During this week, our 6th-grade students mentor throughout the FOA campus as they learn about the <span class=\"il\">internship<\/span> process. Our\u00a07th and 8th-grade students go out into the\u00a0Greenville business\u00a0community to shadow business\u00a0professionals in areas of interest to them.<\/p>\n<p>Seventh-grade FOA student, Filip P., was excited to see first hand the way a television talk show is produced as he worked on the set of Greenville local talk show,<em> <a class=\"profileLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/yourcarolina\/\" data-hovercard=\"\/ajax\/hovercard\/page.php?id=353335265865\">Your Carolina<\/a>\u00a0with Jack and Megan<\/em>. \u00a0Ranjan J., another FOA seventh Grade student, was able to emcee on Clemson&#8217;s sports station 105.5 The Roar.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_7348\" class='wp-caption alignleft' style='width:150px;'><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-7348 size-thumbnail\" src=\"http:\/\/foastatic.local\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_5729-e1476474075514-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"img_5729\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"http:\/\/foastatic.local\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_5729-e1476474075514-150x150.jpg 150w, http:\/\/foastatic.local\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_5729-e1476474075514-50x50.jpg 50w, http:\/\/foastatic.local\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_5729-e1476474075514-100x100.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a><p class='wp-caption-text'>Ranjan J. on air with William Qualkinbush, Clemson&#8217;s Sports radio host on 1005.5 FM The Roar<\/p><\/div>\n<p>An integral\u00a0part of the middle school experience at FOA is the guidance our teachers provide to our students in exploring their unique\u00a0interests and\u00a0developing their individual\u00a0strengths. Internships allow students to explore how their interests and strengths relate to the business world. Students gain insight into possible career paths by allowing them to see first-hand the day-to-day workings of particular careers and businesses. \u00a0This intimate perspective can help students determine if \u00a0a career option may, or may not, be something they would like to pursue.\u00a0\u00a0These valuable experiences are an amazing way for our students to start setting goals for their future as they begin the process of determining who they are and what they can offer the world!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The second week of October was Internship Week for FOA&#8217;s Middle School Students.
