Transitions Workshop with Guest Panel – Primary (Age 5), Elementary, and Middle School
A well-attended and popular parent education event, this evening offers commentary directly from the source of experience of children, parents, and faculty. The focus is an overview of transitions: moving from one level to the next, entering the school as a new student, and exiting the school to attend another program. The format is question and answer; the focus is sharing of information and personal reflections. Topics discussed include what to expect during transition periods, differences between levels, child development, communication, and other items of relevance.
Montessori Mathematics with Amy Kuhl Cox – Primary (Ages 3 & 4)
This workshop will explore the diversity of well- designed Montessori materials in our classrooms. You will have a sneak peak into materials teaching one-to-ten numeration, one-to-one correspondence, and linear counting up to 9999. Children are able to explore all four operations in the Montessori Primary environment: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
