Heather Hepburn
Lower Elementary Reading Interventionist and LE2 Assistant Directress

Heather joined Five Oaks Academy in 2020 and serves as a Lower Elementary Reading Interventionist and as a Lower Elementary II Assistant Directress.  Heather initially attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham to become a Pediatric Nurse before switching majors and earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Resource Management in 2018.  Heather attends Liberty University to obtain a Master’s Degree in the Art of Teaching Elementary Education with an add-on endorsement of Special Education (to be completed Dec. 2020).  She has plans to pursue a Graduate Certificate in Autism Education in the Spring of 2021. She began substitute teaching in 2018 in the Oconee County School District’s Special Education, Resource, and Elementary Classrooms. In December of 2019, she accepted a Reading Intervention position at Legacy Charter Elementary where she gained valuable experience with Reading Intervention and Special Education Resource Pull-Outs. Heather is excited to establish a reading intervention program in Five Oaks Academy’s Lower Elementary program.  She is a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and is involved with Autism Awareness. She has two children; a beautiful daughter full of spunk and compassion and a handsome son full of energy and wisdom.
