April joined Five Oaks Academy in 2006 and started teaching in 1999.  She serves as a Directress for our Afterschool and Cooking programs. She is also a Related Arts teacher in the Lower and Upper Elementary programs and is Garden Coordinator.  April attended Tusculum College in Greeneville, Tennessee, and has an Associate Degree in Communication and Business Administration.  She is certified in Early Childhood Education from Blue Ridge Technical College in Brevard, NC, and completed coursework at Lander University for Montessori Primary level education. She is affiliated with South Carolina Montessori Alliance (SCMA). April’s previous experience includes preschool and after school teaching at Carousel Corner in Brevard, NC,  Little Beavers Daycare in Asheville, NC, and manager of Young Chefs Academy in Greenville, SC.
